first I have an 04 yfz and the steering stem bearing is bad. To remove this you have to take that huge allen lock ring out? Where do you get an allen that big? also any idea if a standard u-joint on a car would use the same needle bearings as the front a-arms do?

 

Well, at the Do-It-Best hardware store I work at we carry allen wrenches up to 1" and 26mm, so if you have one of those or an Ace or True Value around try them. I doubt Lowe's etc would have it.

 

i was told its a 30 or 33mm.

 

ya its a 30 mm. So i went to the hardware store and bought a 2 30mm nuts and welded them together and then put a cresent wrench on it and turned it right out.
