2003 blaster question / 03 660 raptor
When she sit's in neutral she can rev like a bat outa hell, when we are ridding it she only hits like 1/2 to 3/4 rpm, Is there a way to eliminate the rev limiter, Possibly jump the neutral safey switch with a wire?
I modded the stock air box, and wow what a difference!!!! Just a project bike.. I am also looking for a Stage 3 CDI box and Aftermarket Coil for my 03 660 raptor...
(If anyone has one or knows someone that might)
Thanks in advance,
Cole

2003 blaster question / 03 660 raptor
Ya its not the Raptor Im having any issues with, She's Pimp and Im loving it......
Its the blaster, when in neutral, she will hit Like 9000 rpms, when she is moving (driving) I can only hit like 7000 rpms, Im sure its the CDI box on Blaster, But was wanting to know if anyone has ecer found a way to eliminated the rev limiter with out buying an aftermarket CDI for the blaster......
Yall Mentioned the CDI Box for my raptor isnt worth the money, Explain???? I always, or was under the impresion it would give me more mid range and a much stronger air Fuel Map....
Can nayone verify, or has anyone done this and wish they haddent.
My Raptor is Jetted, Full exaust, High flow air boz/ with filter, Im running a 146 in my primary carb, and a 150 in my secondary, with a 12 tooth front sprocket up front for the get up and go. And yes Im aware its a 498 lb Bike (dry) But there has to be more I can do with out doing a cam, valves etc..
Any suggestions would be apprechieted
Thanks Cole

Most of the cdi boxes just eliminate the rev limiter. On a carb. raptor they do not control air/fuel ratio. So unless you are running a majorly worked over engine is there any time that you are actually hitting the rev limiter? That would be the reason to replace it with an aftermarket cdi.
If you already have a full exhaust, jet kit and a filter. And a 12t sprocket like you do the next step would be to go inside the engine or to switch the carbs to FCR's. But really you dont need the carbs untill you do some motor work either.
Im gonna send you a pm to some raptor forums.

I would greatly apprechiete the links to a couple of raptor formums, I purchased a stage 3 AMR CDI alond with the big boy coil, I also changed my jets to a 148 in the left and a 150 in the right, the CDI and coil should be in tomorrow hopefully....
Question...."switch the carbs to FCR's."
What do you mean by that, I hate to sound like a dumb ***, but have neber heard that term, Do you mean change to a fuel inj. set up? If that the case sounds like a pain in the ***, I will post up on how she runs with the new cdi and coil set up..
Thanks again, Cole
