How involed is a stator change

I have a 600 Grizzly that is starting to act up when trying to start it. The Yamaha shop thought it could be the Stator and from reading other post it seems to be a reasonable assumption. They mentioned a new Stator would cost around 500 bucks. I have found new ones for about a third of that cost and was wondering how involved it would be to change.

http://rickystator.com/ is where you need to order the stator from. you need to buy a service manual for your grizzly here.

it tells you step by step how to change/replace anything on your machine.

I have the rickystator page bookmarked from earlier searches but your link for the manual doesn't work and it would be really handy. I guess I can Google and find a manual. I thought that I would give it a go myself as I have another quad that I can drive while I fix the 600. I was just curious if it's a half day job or how long it would take with the proper tools at hand.
