I am having a problem with my carbs blowing off of my Raptor. It will backfire and off they come. Has anyone had this prob. This is the 5th or 6th time this has happened to me. If anyone can help please fill me in. I really need this fixed cause it is leaving me stranded.

take it to the dealer, alot of people have had the problem, they will give new boots , and possibly adjust the jetting

try going a bit richer, but first try taking out the spacers in the middle of the clamps on the intake boots so that you can tighten them more. careful not to overtighten them though because the ends may flare up then.

I put bigger clamps on it like my Yamaha Shop recommended me do and it still does it. So I dont know what to do because they keep giving me the run around.

Must be something wrong with the early production boots. I've only had my Raptor a month and during the tuning process it has backfired and sneezed many times and has not blown them off once. It has even sneezed so hard that it blew fuel past the air filter into the airbox. It has done that twice and the boots are still attached.

I'm not positive, but I've heard from a lot of people on this forum that Yamaha came up with a new design boot that fixes the problem. You should try talking to somebody at your dealership. If they don't know keep trying others till you find somebody that does.

I called my shop today and they said that it was probably in the jetting or something of that nature and would charge me to fix that. I thought to myself I just got this thing two months ago and cant ride the #$*$ thing cause of this prob and now they wanna charge me!!!
