What problmes has the Banshee?
#2
Mixing the oil is quick and easy, Not a bad price to pay for the power of a 2 stroke!! As far as what you will look forward to as a banshee owner...
1. Airbox and Filter are cr@p It is poorly designed and can cause lots of engine damage. Look into a K&N powerkit, as a matter of fact if your buying it from a dealer, dont take it home without one (get them to use the stock aircage and BOLT it into the airbox!!)
2. Stock skidplate breaks within about 2 hours, get a DG
3. Tires are OK, but you will have to replace them often (I got 1 season out of the back tires and 2 out of my front ones.)
4. Pistons wear out at the same speed as your tires do! (This is a good way to judge if you need a rebuild)
5. Stock footboards are ok, but nerfs are way better.
And the last of my list,
6.I have gone through 3 sets of handlebars, this is more of a rider thing, but expect to crash your bike lots
As for daily use of my bike, I change my oil frequently (every 10-20 hours) for around $10 cnd ($6 US) One tank of fuel is 12 L@ xx price (I run premium, and gas prices are different everywhere) and will last me about 3.5-4 hours of hard riding. Premix oil comes in every shape and size and can range widely in price.
But dont let all this scare you (It did me at first, but you learn to compensate for it) I am just trying to inform you of what my bikes consumtions of funds are, the only regret I have about buying a banshee are not getting one that was already pipeed with nerfbars on it!!
