Default Issues with a 01 Bear Tracker

I've had a 01 Beartracker for several years now and was thinking about handing it down to my son for x-mas but and dealing with a running issue. I pulled that carb and diped it as well as replaced the needle and seat. The carb was dirty but not as bad as I thought. I took it out this evening for a test run and it ran great around the yard but when I tried to drive up the hill it wanted to die out. As soon as I returned to level ground it was fine again. Any ideas???? Also does anyone know what the compression reading should be??

compression should be somewhere around 140 but it varies on what model you have, and it sounds to me like your maybe having a float problem, try to carefully inspect it and make sure its moving up and down freely and not sticking, also the pin that holds the float in sometimes there not in there all the way or they are lose and move around causing it to get stuck.
