How is that supposed to help? That is a slap in the face to someone who needs help here.

Now-

Has the warranty expired? What is the dealer's stance on everything? I can't believe that the dealer isn't standing behind the product they sell. Have you talked to any other dealers? Also, check with your state's lemon laws, there is a chance it may apply to wheelers. Good luck and hope everything works out.

You might want to check the factory settings for the jetting/temperature.

From the description of the problems you're having, it doesn't sound like a jetting issue. Worst case scenario, you'd burn a hole in the piston.

But, that doesn't mean Yamaha or any dealer wouldn't use that information to refuse any warranty work they might otherwise cover.

Get firm with the dealer..DEMAND you want it fixed.. I have read many good things about Yamaha customer service..

On the flip side I know somone that got screwd on the known faulty frame of a 05 king quad and Suzuki would not support it, nor would they support QUAD magazines suki that traveled across Africa and broke its frame as well..they said tough $hit.... So from what I've seen...Suzuki is not a better choice in regards to warranty.

I think this comes to down to you not making enough 'noise' about the issue.. or your dealer is weak..

Some things are just not adding up.

It has been my experience in dealing with auto/truck and ATV/motorcycle dealerships that the quality of the dealership is as important if not more so than the company in getting satisfactory service/results. I became disgusted when dealing with the place I bought my Rhino when they keep it for weeks on end and could never find the problem, so I took it to a different dealer who quickly found the problem, a five dollar part and fixed it on the trailer. I would take it to a different dealership and see if you can get anything done and if that doesn't work, I would trade it off and send the paperwork to Yamaha and show them what had happened as well as what a previous poster suggested about contacting the BBB.

Latest and greatest news from dealer on big bearProblem the K&N air filter I am using is keeping the machine running too lean, funny thing it was put in 2 hours after I bought it. humored them and took stock air cleaner to them because they didnt have one A YAMAHA DEALER without a stock air filter Put in stock air cleaner still wont idle in 25 degree weather. Would I be willing to pay 60 for a jet kit. Hmm I guess yamaha can't make a four wheeler that runs year round. Different settings for summer and winter consualt your dealer for more info

Just out of curiosity, did you pull the spark plug and check the color?

Just a K&N filter doesn't seem like it would be enough to throw off the jetting. Looked in one of my Polaris manuals here at work, and the temp change for jetting is at 40º F. So, the K&N and the cold temps might have been enough to throw it off.

Almost sounds like a Dial A Jet system would work pretty well for you.
