OK here it is, I bought a 2008 Yamaha Wolverine 450 4x4 about 6 months ago and it was been great to me, but I live in West Texas and all i do is ride around in the sand and I am wanting a more sporty four wheeler, either a YFZ450 or a Raptor 350.


I was just wondering what y'all thought about it. Thanks for the help

 

I'm all for sport quads, but usually when you trade in, you get robbed. You're probably better off to sell the Wolvy and the buy another quad. A YFZ450 and a Raptor 350 are in 2 totally different classe. The Raptor 350 is a turd compared to the YFZ450. A Raptor 700 is a better compaison to the 450 and either one would be great in sand.

 

Alright, How much do you think i could get for my wolvy, i've put a little over 250 miles on it??

 

Check craigslist.com for your area to get an idea what they are selling for. I would guess that a dealer would give you 25% less than that at best. List yours on craigslist and see what happens - - it is free.

 

get the yfz i would get the new mxer because i had a 660 raptor it was great and i got a 700 and fuel injection made a huge differnce in power and throttle response

 

KBB.com (kellybluebook.com) will give you a rough idea on what your Wolvy is worth. I really don't know what they go for, I'm a Raptor guy.

 

Wow you are dealing with two totaly diff machines the 450 is going to be nothing like your Wolvy. The 450 is pretty much a race only bike your wolvy is built for slower cruising there are much better coices out there. Like you said the 350 but if I were you I would consider a 400 class quad such as the 400EX or the Suzuki Z400 much better bikes than the 350 or if you need more power go with the Raptor 700 as these bike are much better allaround quads desined for just about anything trown at them not just a MX track. 450's are not designed for a all day ride like the ones I mentioned are!

 

Thanks for all the help guy, I appreciate it , i've never even thought about another maker other than Yamaha, LOL old habits die hard i guess yamaha's been good to me so, and can you even get a raptor 450 anymore?

 

Alright Guys, I have one more question, I've gotten kind of spoiled with my Wolvy being automatic, are there any sport models that are auto, or are they all manual, I mean i can live with a manual, I'll just have to get the shifting down.

 

I think you should just stick with the Wolvy and pick up another one. Like everyone is saying, your probably going to get robbed on the price with the trade-in, and you'd be better off selling it on craigslist or something but your still not going to get anything close to what it's worth or what you paid for it.
