raptor 250 or 350?
im 13 years old and i was lookin to buy one of these quads. im kind of short for my age, only 5'1''. ive been riding for over 6 years. ive ridden dirt bikes and atvs and love them both. i used to have blaster (<--loved that thing) but sold it to buy my 07 wolvy which i do have to say is a BEAST for its size. I have a ttr 125 dirt bike but dont ride it that much anymore and want to sell it to buy another atv. Im an experianced rider and i mostly do open feild riding and riding around on a track jumping. the wolvy is great for trail riding and mud which i love to do but its not the best for jumping or racing around on small dirt tracks. i am debating whether i should get the raptor 250 or 350. ive heard lots about both but nothing to convince me. I mostly hear that the raptor 250 is small and that most people outgrow it and ask for more power. Ive also heard that the raptor 350 is much slower then the 400ex and that the 250 is faster. I want to know what's true and what's not. I kno that the 250 is lighter and quicker off the start but is it good for just messin around in fields or riding around in some light mud/snow? same for the 350. . . is it a good All-Around quad? Is the 350 to big for me?

ok thanks a bunch. yea after a while i started to outgrow the blaster. another problem was that the blaster's shocks bottomed out on some of the jumps i do and after a while thats kind of hard on an atv. does the raptor 350 have a good suspension that will be able to take some jumps? im not looking to mod it out or anything so i want a good stock suspension

Between a 250 and a 350, I think you would be better off with the 350, but the suspension sucks for jumping.
I know this isn't in your line-up, but have you thought about getting a 400EX? They have plenty of power and suspension right from the factory to do everything you want to do and are very reliable, and used ones are just as cheap as a Raptor 350. There is a 13 year-old kid in my neighborhood that rides a 400EX and he loves it.
I'm a Yamaha guy for the most part, but lets face it, Yamaha doesn't have a competetive mid-level machine. I just think that if you were out-growing a Blaster you have already outgrown a 250, and with 6 years of riding experience you will be bored with the 350.

thnx raptor450. ill keep that 400ex in mind. im just not a big fan of honda because one of my good friends had a crf150 and that thing was just crap he even said it himself. and my cousing has a honda atv and its not that durable. i dont really trust honda all that much but ill still keep in mind the 400ex and research it a little bit. also thanks 4strokemurder

I would go with the 250.......
The 350 is not all that much bigger than the 250.... yes it is a little bigger but it is still smaller than a 400ex as an example......
The 350 is at home on the trails and as a cruising machine. But the 250 has better suspension and is much better at jumping and racing. And there is a long list of aftermarket stuff coming out or the 250 as they are being used to race now.
Speed wise the 250 and 350 are pretty darn close....... top speed might go to the 350, but from about 0-50 they are close enough to where it will come down to the rider. But the 250 is very light and nimble. And since you are only 5'1" you certainly won't be cramped on a 250 at all.....

ok thanks. im just worried about the 250 not having enough power because ive read other places that the 250 will have you asking for more. im not all about jumping though. what kind of riding i do depends on what i feel like doing. sometimes i like to just ride around in a big open field and sometimes i like to jump... a little of half and half.

if you already out grew a 200cc machine 50cc is not going to make that much of a diffrence. im not sure if either of these machines is really good for you i would have to agree with raptor 450 on this one i would say look at the 400 ex or even other 400 machines like the ltz or the kfx.
