Purchase question

There were some minor problems with the 07 model such as an update required in the roll over valve, but this has been replaced on all later models and is a cheap fix if you run across one that was not caught in one of the tech bulletins. There have been minimal change from 07 to 09 with the 09 having a little different throttle and thicker cv boots. I would suggest you also check the forum on Grizzly Central as individuals there have provided some very good information and are not as hesitant to point out any shortcomings as one might imagine.

Therein lies the confusion because all pre 2007 Grizzlies are 660's, not 700's. The 660 is a carbuerated model and has proven itself to be a very good ATV, unfortunately I don't know that much about the different model years, but I usually try to stay away from the first model year. My Rhino has the same engine as the 660 Grizzly and I have not had any problems with it in almost three years of ownership. Wish I could have been of more help. Have you tried Grizzly Central, some members probably have more experience with the older models.

One more question, I know this is the Yamaha forum but I would like to know what you guys think of the 2008 Bruteforce 750i? I can get a pretty good deal on a leftover right now. I have owned 2 Kawasaki Prairie's and didn't have any problems but was leaning towards the Yamaha this time. Now I don't know because of the deals on the Kawasaki's. Any input would be appreciated.

The BF is a nice machine with plenty of power. The 08-09 are the ones to be had as they redsigned them in 08 and are much better suspension wise than the ealier models. With that said they tend to have allot of tranny/belt issues and I dont care much for there lever 4x4 system!

I am sure the Brute Force is a good machine. I have a couple of older Kawasaki's that I have never had any problems with and my brother has a Prairie and my son had one also and rode the heck out of it. I personally do not like the way you have to use a lever and hold it for differential lock, but that is a personal thing. I doubt you would regret buying either the BF or Grizzly.

Getting back to my original question, In the 2003-2007 Grizzly 660 models, which years are better than others? Also, what should I be looking for on these used ATV's? I know I want something as close to stock as possible with no lift kits. I would like a winch and a snowplow, thats it. I fouls a 2006 on craigslist. It is camo and comes with a plow, but no winch. He said he want $5,000 firm. That seems steep, what do you think it is worth? I also found a 2003 limited edition. Any input would be appreciated.

I don't know anything about the 660 Grizzlies other than that they were good bikes. I have a 660 Rhino that has been a good performer and dependable. I agree that you probably don't want a highly modified machine unless you know the owner and its history. I would suggest you check out the Grizzly Central Forum as they have some very knowledgeable individuals on that site who own all different sizes and year models of Grizzlies; wish I could have been more help.
