Default warrior problems

i just bought a 99 warrior a few months ago and today i was riding around and all of a sudden it just died while riding. i tried to start it and it would try to start but wouldnt stay running at all. it would just die. this is my first atv so im not sure what is wrong. its getting fire to the plug. but it is cranking like its not getting spark. it has a procom cdi if that matters. my friends are going to little sahara next weekend and i would like to get it fixed by then if possible.

take a closer look at the spark its putting out, is it white or blue? fat or barely visible? and does the spark jump around everywhere or does it stay in one spot? also take a look at the plug for me and tell me if its black or gray or normal looking which normally if its grayish brown color then its fine. warriors have a tendencey to love to lose spark, usually its the stator, hopefully thats not the case here.

that sounds like pretty normal conditions, most likely its gotta be something else then, you can replace the plug for the heck of it but it doesnt sound like its fouled out unless its ben used on your bike for a while then it might finally be giving out. next thing to try would be fuel, when you crank it over for a while does the plug get wet with fuel? or is there a real strong smell of fuel? you can also pull the hose off the tank and crack the fuel shutoff valve open to see if fuel is actually getting to the carb, if so then its obvious you might have a gunked up carb or a stuck float or something. when it died on you for the first time what did it do? just plain shutoff real fast or maybe slowly die out? the parking brake sensor is another thing that causes weird problems but when those are faulty bikes usually run but when you try to rev them they start backfiring real bad, those are easy to deal with you just unplug them.

im not sure if the plug gets wet or not. it does get fuel to the carb. when it died it didnt spit and sputter or anything. it just died.then when i would try to start it back up it would try to start and run for maybe 1 second then would just die. now it wont even do that. could it be a electrical problem? i thought the stator was new but it isnt. this is my first atv so im pretty new to this kind of stuff.

well with the spark being good most likely its not electrical, it might just need a good carb cleaning to get it running, just to make sure id try replacing the plug, to see if the plug is getting wet just crank to it over for about 10 seconds then pull the plug out and it should be visible or you should be able to wipe you finger on it and see the fuel on your finger.

If it was the stator you wouldn't have good spark. I can't believe no one has mentioned the parking brake sensor yet. Play with your park brake and see if that fixes your problem
