Help!! Still jetting Raptor
#12
Did you get yours dialed in? I can't get mine dialed in. I am currently running 165/170 with Sparks ign. advance, snorkel off and BG full exhaust. It doesn't like anthing over half throttle, AT ALL, It coughs and cuts out. I keep reading all these posts but it seems that these people are going back and forth. HELP!

ERICsRAPTOR,
I would have to disagree with you. My bike is pulling hard throughout all the gears. The small problem is that when running at full throttle, say in 4th gear, if I let off just for a split second and hammer the throttle again. It will pop and hesitate and pull hard again. This is why I say it is lean. It runs like a raped ape, other than the slight hicup. I have have done several plug tests and it is still lean. When I made the mods, I installed a new plug. After running for a few hours both at idle and full throttle, the plug ceramic still looks brand new.
I tried 155/160 last night and still looks lean. It is better than it was, has a little color but, I know it is still lean. Tonight, If I can get a chance, I will try 160/165. I'll let you know then.

You might want to consider getting a Dyno Jet kit. Kind of expensive at $83.00 but it comes with several sizes of main jets, lighter slide springs and possibly most important, new needles. The needles have a way different taper than stock and needles can have a big effect on jetting. The kit covers a wide variety of ATV configurations such as type of pipe, altitude, air filter setup, etc. The instructions are good and I think it takes a lot of the guesswork out of jetting this thing. I'm pretty happy with the way it runs.
