Default exhaust smoke gets worse as i drive??

when i start it up it smokes a little but not to bad, but as she warms up the smoking out of the exhaust gets worse, I took off the head today and found a little oil on top of the piston, do you think this would be caused from bad valve seals or shot rings?

Hard saying to be for sure, but I would probably lean more towards the rings.

Could be both, but it's probably the rings. Wouldn't be a bad idea to replace the rings and the valve seals while you have it apart. Valve seals are really cheap.

use a socket that is about the size of the valve spring and take a hammer and give it a good strike and it will free the valve from the little keepers or cotter whatever u wanna call it inside.

you may have to give it some time to burn the old oil out of the exhaust and seat the ring. a couple months back i rebuilt my father in laws four wheeler that was smokin like a chimney. had new guides seals valves and rings put in it. the first night we started it it smoked and got worse and worse and we quit for the night. went out the next day and it didnt smoke and hasn't puffed since.

but guides could be an issue too for that matter. did you have them checked. how old is the bike

I would try mixing some Sea Foam in the fuel tank and running a tank of the mixed fuel to see if it helps , it could be exccessive carbon deposits builtup in the combustion chamber causing the rings to stick and gummed up valves i've seen this condition before that was resolved using Sea Foam stopping the smoke on all type of engines ; well worth the $7.00 cost of the Sea Foam !

You can get it at any Auto Parts Stores and most local Walmart Super Centers for about $7.00 plus tax it's a great product that's been on the market since 1942 , and it still carries the same money back satifiaction or your money back Guarranty ; well worth the cost for all it does for 2 and 4 stroke engines both gasoline and Disel fuel's !..........
