please help me wolverine wont run right
#1
I just recently bought an 05 wolverine. It ran good. I rode it for about a week and everything worked fine. I took it out, ran it, got it pretty muddy, then I have no power. It would start to go then stop. I let it cool down then I could go a little then stop, finally after got it home it ran a little better, but still will not run right. You can go through most of 1st gear then into second the power cuts. If I go up a hill power cuts. The motor idles fine revs right up in neutral but in gear goes then stops. When you drive it it will go better when going slow but when you give it more gas it it will cut and backfire. I have checked the air filter and it was clean checked put new gas in with dry gas, checked wires and connections, checked oil, I put a new spark plug in I have cleaned the carb and it still does the same thing. Can anyone think of anything that might be causing it to run like this?? Please help.

Maybe check the parking brake switch, it will cut out the engine when in gear to prevent you from frying the rear brake if you leave the parking brake on. You should have 2 wires coming from the brake lever on the left side, follow them until you find a plug, unplug it and see if it runs better, if it does, most people cut the wires and tape the ends. My 95 Wolverine did not have that switch, and I DID fry my rear caliper and warped my rotor !! from 1996 on up, they put the switch in to prevent that from happening, but it tends to go bad, and your mud bath may have shorted something out. take a look and let us know.
