My freind is getting a 300ex, do you think he will have more power and beat me on the track? If so what kind of engine mods would i have to do at a small price to make it so he cant? I know i will be able to outhandle him when i get finished with all the other mods, but will the 300ex have more power? Thanks

No, he won't have more power. You should be able to beat him easily. My Friend gots a stock 2001 300ex with holeshots. I have got a 2000 Blaster with my mods listed at the bottom and I blow him away every where we race I get him from the start to finish especially on drag races his Dad gets so mad he trys to beat me on the 300ex but he can't either. I laugh because it is so funny. He will never be able to beat me. I am sure you will have more power than your friend because you have got a 2 stroke and he is getting a 4 stroke.

Hes not good with a clutch yet because he had a recon, but as of now he has a little MX track in his back yard and I can beat him but some there. I was just wanting to know because I wont let him have a faster quad than me! Would any of you recommend getting the V-force Delta 2 reed cages? I heard they are pretty good and add about 2-3 horses.

Sounds like your a little bit scared here Daredevil1, is your friend maybe a better rider than you? The Blaster and the 300EX are pretty close in competition, but the Blaster will have more punch because it's a 2-stroke, but then again the 300EX will have a broader powerband for tight trail riding. So it really all comes down to the rider and the type of riding. Maybe you should make an effort to get out to your friends track a lot so you can practice more before he gets to be a better rider, unless he already is! :-) You'll probably want to get that frame straightened before you take him on too! RIDE RED!

I have both a 97 300ex and 90 blaster.the 300 has 20/11/9 6 ply razr's on ITP .190's and the blaster has pro-x.025 piston,low-mid porting, uni filter, boyesen reeds. On a mx track I am confident I would be able to put out better lap times on the 300ex.ONLY because my blaster has the STUPID balloon tires.I can't slide I can't break them loose nothing!I hate them like I hate nothing else. The 300 has a little better handling and in the woods I would win on the 300 again.but once I get some new rear tires I think the blaster will be more than a match.

As far as a drag race I have only raced them one time and a crappy rider was on the 300ex and I was on the blaster.I smoked him but they top out about the same.I can't hardly get the blaster in 6th without bogging.

The blaster will pull wheelie's through 4th but 5-6 it is dead.
