Default Fuel problem?

Hi guys.
I got similar problem with my son's 2007 Wolverine 450 4x4. I bought this one three months ago. I experience fuel problem. If I go through bigger rocks, downhill or uphill, engine will die. Than will start up immediately. Never die on flat trail. It happens always at worst moment. Any suggestion? Thanks.

First thing to check are the screens on the fuel shut off petcock, if they are plugged it will cause the problem you are having. Next question would be did this machine sit for a long period of time (a year or more) and the fuel went bad in the carb. My recommendation would be to try some sea foam in your gas to help clean the carb. If this does not help take the carb off and check the needle valve for blockage, wear, and make sure the float is not partially filled with gas. This carb is gravity fed and the only reason for stalling and backfires is running out of gas from the needle valve back. Remember there are no filters between the petcock and the needle valve and if any part of the rubber seal in the petcock breaks loose it will end up in the needle valve and only show up when you are putting a load on the motor (like going up a hill).

Hope this helps and good luck Bayou.419

Thanks bayou for suggestions. I bought this machine three months ago with 231 miles on it. It is 2007. It looks like it was siting in the garage for a while.
I will clean fuel system valve to carb. I let you know.

You have to remove everything to pull the carb for a proper cleaning.

Posting for dummies ----- I thought I was computer savy,, evidently not. I signed up to this site to post for help on a 2001 Kodiak Ultramatic, and I can't figure out HOW to post except to reply to an existing thread. Can anyone offer me help on posting a question ? Thanks ahead of time.... Cajunhunter2001
