so i just bought this 95 warrior went to change the plug and oil..... well i pulled the drain plug and found small chunks of aluminum came falling out... none of it was in the little screen basket thing just in the crank case. two questions
1. what is the little screen basket for does that separate the crank case and trans?
2. any common things that fail that would put small chunks of aluminum in there?
bike runs great no noticeable problems

When I got my warrior it had chunks of aluminum in it. The bearing between the crank and connecting rod was destroyed. Might as well plan on tearing it down and rebuilding it. Here is my thread.

well i think i found where the material came from...... much like yours mine has a broken case right in front of the drive sprocket it has been jb welded and that is leaking..... i think that is where the pieces came from.... I will still take the right side cover off and check it out.

hopefully its something like that and not the thrust washers, which are the ones that are in between the rod and crank, thats how mine blew up, original crank after all these years finally took a dump a few years ago lol

Yea that could be it if the oil hasn't been changed since the case got busted. When my case broke though, it was a pretty clean break. Not really any little chunks of aluminum, it all broke in really big pieces.
