Default kodiak 450 backfiring

ok. I've had my kodiak for a couple months and it's worked great so far. But the other day when I was using it, I kept full throttle on for about 7 seconds and it started stalling. And it does that whenever I do full throttle for a few seconds. Is this normal?

Were you in neutral? If so then yes I think it is normal. They don't like to be revved a lot in neutral.

If you haven't gotten ahold of bad fuel your valves spec's could need checking and adjusted , my 2006 AC 400 FIS Auto 4x4 has made a small pop from the exhaust when i shut it off since day one ; i asked my dealer if this could be a sigh that the valve spec's were off a little from the factory !

I only had less than 300 miles at the time i asked her if i should do the valve inspection at my 3rd complete servicing , she told me that the Suzuki engines didn't reqire this proceejure untill at least 500 miles unless they become hard to start and or making any ticking noise from top end ; if so then it would be good check them and adjust if needed !

Although i've owned 2 suzuki powed quad's and one 1986 Honda TRX350FM 4x4's the only one i every had to do more than just check the spec's on the Suzuki's , only the Honda needed adjusting the valves and then only 3 time's during over the 15 yrs. i owned it ; i know first hand that the valve clearance can be off spec's that the engine wouldn't startup and run from the factory !

This i learned from the 30 yrs. as owner and head mechanic of my own Small Engine Repair And Service shop from 1985 untill i closed it in the fall of 1997 , so it could very well be that the valves need an adjusted ; and it's usally the intake valve that is off spec's about 99% of the time !

There are other things that would be cause like the engine running a little rich or lean , but do check the valve spec's even if you start with the carb or throddle body if it's EFI ; good luck to you and wecome to the forums !

Could be bad gas or improper jetting.
