Default 04 Grizzly overheating

my friend bought a Grizzly brandf new and ever since he has owned it it has always ran hot, i mean the fan pretty much never turns off.

only thing done to it is 25 inch mud machines and snorkels and engine ice for coolant.

he loves the machine but doesn't wanna dump all the money into the new radiator and fan cause it would never stay cool really when it was brand new...

any help would b appreciated

How do you know it runs hot? Does a warning light come on,does it boil over?

My friends 03 Griz 660 got so hot the gas boiled once, but Yamaha offered a heat shield for under the tank and new vented side panels. Now with the vented side panels his legs get uncomfortably hot but the ATV runs fine.

I wouldnt worry on the trails the fan will always run...cruising on the highway it should shut off part of the time. As long as the light stays off he should b good...these engines do build a lot of heat.(I managed to melt the o-ring between the filter and the engine case, but thats a long story (cough cough...dont buy aftermarket oil filters))

i know what u mean about oil filters K&N filters will collapse that why none of us run them, but the light kicks on every now on then while in the woods on the grizzly on the road it's fine and none of the other big 4x4's get hot like his grizz
