Default More Air

I have a K&N air filter and i have heard people talking about taking the cover off the air box to increase air, is there a trick to keep the K&N in place? With my cover off it doesnt seem to secure in there, kind of wiggles around and im afraid if i hit a big bump or something it will pop off.

Thanks

what you can do with the drop in filters is take some weatherstrip adhesive(i think permatex makes it in a orange bottle) or something and adhere the filter to the airbox so it wont have that gap between the filter and the intake inlet, otherwise its better off to get the kit to where it clamps on, if you do run it with the lid off most likely you will have to richen it up a little, mine is setup to run without the lid, but i also have 2 extra lids one is solid and one has 4 big holes for different types of riding i switch them.
