Unhappy banshee wont start

Ive been having trouble starting my banshee. Whenever i try to kickstart it i have no spark what so ever. I've tried replacing the coil, spark plugs and even bought a new cdi unit for it. Does anyone know what else could be wrong?

Have to go with everyone else on that one...the stator is more than likely junk. I would invest in a manuel so you dont go replacing parts unneccesarily. I have PDF version of the service manuel for the years 89-90 but there wasn't any significant changes in the machine so all the info is still good.

I know this is an old thread, but can the stator cause a no spark situation, but still flash the headlights while kicking? My buddy replaced the crank (Broken connecting rod) and is trying to figure out why the Banshee has no spark.

Tors has been removed and the key has been bypassed, but no spark on either side. The tests that he can find in the Clymer manual seem to make the stator check out OK, so he ordered another CDI. We were thinking that the coil would be next on the list. The current coil was replaced last year (With a new Yamaha unit), but could that fail again so soon?
