Another warrior starting problem.... Rejet?
#1
So, let me walk you through my story...
Bought 1995 warrior in around 2005-2006. Guy said it used to be used for racing. It has a Weisco 366 big bore high compression kit, durablue axle, and not much else changed. Guy said electric start works, but he doesn't have a battery for it. So I buy it, take it home, run it for a couple months, decided to try to get electric start to work, hook up a battery, no spin. Open the crank case, no starting gears...
Buy some starting gears online, put them in, starter won't turn over. Replace the starter, electric start works for like a month, then the sprag clutch blows. Buy a new stator with sprag clutch, coil goes out, replace the coil, can't get it to start. Find out the new stator didn't have the counter weight, so switch the sprag clutch out, go to put it back together, woodruff key breaks, buy a new woodruff key, and here I am....
So, I go to start my quad today after putting everything back together... and my battery is dead, try to jump it, can't get it to start, so I end up pull starting it again... Finally starts up. Problem is, I can only get it to run if I have the choke pulled out. When I push the choke in, it either revs really high, and/or bogs down and dies.
Question:
1: Do I need to rejet? Would improper jets cause it to only be able to run on choke?
2: Is there anyway to remove all the switches and fuses and other BS in the starting system, so it just runs straight from the battery, to the switch, to the starter?
3: The foam peice for my K&N filter that sits between filter and the plastic of the air box ripped. Anyone know a way to buy another one without buying another filter? Or have any ideas of a cheap suitable fix for it?
Thanks for all your help.
