Tires
New to the sport but I'm looking for recommendations on tires. I like rocky technical riding but I like to get some speed up too. I'm not a big fan of dune riding but would like to know what people would consider as a good tire for this type of riding. Or is there a universal type of tire for all around riding?

would help a little to know what your riding and whether its 4wd, they make tires good for all terrain but if you ride in the dunes paddles are the only way to go, usually people have a spare set of dune paddles for the rear, so just rocky mountain terrain mostly? no mud or anything? theres a few decent tires i think you would like just lemme know what you ride.

If you ride rocks, then a heavy duty 6 ply would be a good choice to eleiminate punctures, like the Holeshot HD's or the Holeshot GNCC's, that is, if you ride sport quads. I like the GNCC's because they are vary light. The HD's are heavy, but almost bullett-proof. Running slightly more air in them will also help to avoid punctures.

Second the HD's for rocky. The 6 ply really adds protection. They seem to be a more firm tire and seem to give a little rougher ride. As Raptor450 suggest I also had more air in them. That adds to the the bumpiness.
I no longer use them. Currently running Maxxis razr's. They are an excellent all around IMO. Do a little rocky terrain riding but, not enough to make the switch back.
