thinking about buying a raptor
first of all hey guys im new to the site.
anyway, i was thinking of buying a yamaha raptor 700r
i was wanting an atv for mud and stuff like that since my parents are tired of me beating the hell out of my truck
but it kinda seems to me that the raptor is more of a race/trail quad.
feel free to correct me if im wrong.
anyone know how well these hold up in the mud?

well it all depends on what your trying to do with it if its exreme deep and long runs of mud then the 700 would not be your quad the 700 is more of a faster quad and your gunna be zoomin through the mud trying to make it i personally think thats more fun than trying to crawl through it but thats my opinion many will differ its all up to what you wanna do

welcome to the forums, raptor 700s are mainly just for fast trail riding, they can be good for anything but mud really lol, i would look into a grizzly 700 there good in mud and are actually quick too, wovly 450s are a good mix but there pretty slow overall, peppy but not very fast compared to most bikes.

The Raptor 700 is an awesome machine, but not really made for deep mud. Like the other guys said, if you want to go fast, and go through some mud occasionally, the Raptor would be great. If you want to go through deep mud all the time, a Grizzly or other 4x4 would be the better choice. I personally like the Raptor and would rather see how fast I can go than to try to see how much mud I can make it through.

The wolverine supposedly sucks in the mud as well.. so thats a toss up.
Tho it is a beast of a climber and very tough. seems to me You should get a utility.. yamaha has plenty of great choices in that field.. They seem to have everything covered in my book.. Nehoo goodluck mate.. Hope u get what ya want. Choose wisely.
