Any body have an idea about gas milage if you ride it hard. Any guess or measurement will be appreciated because I am going to race and have to decide to buy an IMS tank or not.

The Raptor being a 4-stroke does well. I recently rode a trail that was 36 miles long used about a half tank of gas. Hope that helps.

If your racing xc and your races are 2hours long you'll be fine with the stock tank.

Actually I am going to race at endurance rallies (like Paris-Dakar)which are around ten days and 5000kms long and the re-fueling points can be 300kms (190 miles) apart so my point is, if the IMS 5gl tank will be sufficient or do I have to built something at the back with a fuel pump?

you just answered your own question. Go for the larger tank.

I would go with the bigger tank deffinetly and then what I would do is drain all gas out of raptor put exactly 1/2 gallon or 1/4 gallon and go on a back road somewhere and ride the quad untill it ran out of gas at an average speed whatever they are for that type of racing. Then just do the math and you should be able to tell if 5 gallons will get you 190miles or not because I wouldnt want to run out nor would I want to carry any uneaded gas. If you do this you should be able to tell pretty easily personally I would use 1/4 of a gallon and go from there so your not out on that rode for hours. heheh Good luck let us know what you find out!

My friend and I both have raptors and we do a lot of hard trail riding. A gas station is nearby for fill ups. We are consistantly getting 25-26 miles per gallon with hard riding.
