Cool warrior suspension beat the hell out of me

Took the warrior (aka Sherman tank) to a motorsports park this weekend. They had a 'sport quad only' track so I took my little Sherman out there. This bike is a true Sherman tank. Bulletproof, ultra-reliable, and just one heavy son-of-a-#$%! On the jumps (which were not small, trust me) If you didn't hit the throttle hard to get the nose up, it just did a serious nose dive and the landing was a serious 'oommphh' on ya. And even when you did keep the nose up...the landing was nothing to look forward to.

The suspension on these Shermans is just not good for jumps. Now that I am advancing in riding skill - I think I need a more modern quad with better suspension. Which sucks b/c the realiability on this thing is just top notch. I couldn't be happier from that perspective.

yep lol old school suspension on these just doesnt perform to well thats why alot of people switch to banshee suspension which is only a little bit better, also Works makes some decent suspension for these that isnt to pricey, if i kept modding mine i would run a raptor 660 shock in the back and yfz450 front shocks, but i put a stop to any modifications on this thing.

Yea...at some point it just makes more since to 'cash it out' and buy something better. I local guy here has a nice '05 raptor 660r for only 2800. If I got the full $1800 out of my warrior...then it would only cost me $1K basically to get a nice raptor. That would be a little much on power for me...but I could always tie a knot in the throttle cable so I can't hit WOT on it...

nah you would grow into the power, and also theres a screw behind the thumb throttle that can be adjusted to make it only go in 50% or so lol, there torque is like a tractor, only thing i really dont care for much is how tall and tipsy they are.

I know the suspension on mine is shot. I've been looking at upgrading mine. I have a nice shock for the rear now, just need to look at the front next month. I see a ton of yfz450 piggy back shocks for sale. The problem I find a suspension guy who valves them, Yamy seems to only do non rebuilbable shocks on their 4wheelers.
