twist/thumb throttle problems
Hi,
I have a 2003 400ex, and when I bought it, the owner already had a motion-pro twist throttle. So I thought, "cool, ill just keep it. I like it better than the thumb throttle anyway." I was wrong. So I ordered a terry cable dual gasser, so i could use the thumb throttle for technical stuff, and the twist for smooth rides. I also purchased a stock length throttle cable. When I threaded the new cable into the carb, it was too short on the other end, meaning that when it was all hooked up, it was at 1/2 throttle without even touching it. I've tried everything I know to do. I need to know if there is a way to adjust the actual carburetor, or if the cable is wrong. I'm not sure.
Thanks

when i had a twisty on my raptor i had to cud down the housing to make it work(not easy with out cuting the iner cable) i think if you told a dealer what you had they could probably get you the right cable .or the manufactur of the throttle might have a listing/partnumber for one that will work with ther system.
o and if you decide to cot the outer housing it packs full af dirt real fast i had to put some vac tubing over it and seal it up...hope this helps
