YFZ450 jetting
#3
It really depends on what your elevation is.I have similar mods to yours and race at around a 1200 foot elevation and run a 170 main jet that I bought from Dennis Kirk for $2.50 plus shipping. If you order jets get the ones with the CR prefix because we have FCR carbs on our quads.

With Dyno Jet you will be running very rich, and you don't want that, plus it's more $. As they stated above me, depends on elevation.

Im in south florida not sure on my elevation but i opened up myh carb today cuz i was unsure wat jet i had in it with my GYTR slip-on and im running a 172 with a 15 37 setup. the bike feels like its hitting a rev limiter wen i open her up at top end... sounds kinda like a sputter and its at the end of 5th.... i read i could mess with the air/fuel mixture screw to help wit it but i think its time for a rev box... any suggestions?

When I put my pipe on my YFZ I found myself hitting the rev limiter really easily also. Most people that use aftermarket CDI's seem to give mixed reviews about them. From my own personal experience I've only tried two of them, the first was a Big Gun OverRev CDI that actually slowed me down on the dragstrip and I'm currently trying out a programmable Dyna FS ignition with their programming software.I really haven't done enough testing yet at the track with the Dyna FS to make any negative or positive comments, but all that I can say is "So far, so good".
From what I've seen from the motorcycle guys at the dragstrip, mainly the Hayabusa riders, there is some power to be found with the Dyna FS software. It just takes testing and tuning with it.
