Default Blaster jet question

I went to the local dealer for some bigger jets and they had none over the #250 size, thats the size I have. the guy told me to drill it out. I got my number drill bit set out and a #54 fits in perfect (no slop). I had it bored out and am wondering what I should drill it out to..? Any help is appreciated

Default Why ?

Don't drill it out. You cannot keep the drill steady enough to make it a specific size so don't try it. Why are you looking for a larger jet ? If you put a chamber on it maybe but you might want to contact a local aftermarket dealer that will sell you a jet. Only go maybe 1 to 2 sizes bigger on the main. Remember that the main is only involved at wide open throttle. Keep a good eye on the plug ceramic for brownish color..not grey. Look down in the plug where the white ceramic makes contact with the metal housing with the threaded portion of the plug. You should read the plug at the bottom so get out a light and take a look all the way down inside. Good luck and don't blow it up !

Ok, thanks. This thing leaned out and scored the wall. I had it bored and the owner said to go two sizes bigger and I should be good.

I got the jet and installed it, but then my needle and slide will not go all the way into the carb body. It goes about 3/4's in then will not go anymore ( guide pin is in line too). Is it needle to hole alignment thats screwing with me or something I am not noticing???

Default Rotate the slide

You have to rotate the slide 180 degrees so the slot in the slide fits over the pin in the carb. If you look at the slide you will notice at the bottom there is a cut away. That should face to the back and the slide will go right in. Good luck.

Default It might be the needle too...

The needles are pretty loose in the slide and can sometimes miss the hole or main well tube. You should be able to see that if you look in the carb as you are sliding the slide down into the carb. Use something like needlenose to grab the needle lightly and align it with the hole.. drop it in...good luck.
