Default yfz 450 sprockets

I have a 2004 yfz 450 and my neighbors raptor 660 smoke the thing it's not even a race and i was thinking it the sprockets which are front 14 and rear 38 I dont know. this race was a drag race of 250 yard at most and I was under the impression that the 450 is faster.I am guessing the top speed is around 60 65 on the yfz. I have read ad everyone clams close to 80 with a stock yfz.

I have a '04 YFZ. It is noticeably lower geared than other new yfzs and 450Rs. My top speed is right in between 60 and 65 as you said. Brothers 450R is around 75. Any yes the stock gearing is 14 38.

Is the 450 and the 660 both stock? The 660 will probably have more hp stock for stock. The 450's seem to react to mods better. With a pipe/rejet/filter mine would eat a stock 660. Never really raced a modded 660.

Whoa....Something is not right then. What do you mean you "guess" you have a slip on and cams. If the guy you bought it from was trying to tell you it was cam'd I'd probably disgard it. To many people just down right lie to make the quad look cool. If he didn't spend the money for a full exhaust I doubt he would cam it.

As for the slip on you should be able to tell. Does it have a brand on the pipe?

gytr is not junk. It's definitely an improvement over stock. There are better ones out there but like I said it beats stock. If your EX beat the 660 which would suprise me than the yfz should handily beat it. In my experience the 660's are fast and tough in a drag.

yea I dont know I like the gytr and yea I just told the kid lets take it to the track and see what ones faster granted its the rider but I have way more experience than him.I dont care that he beats me in drag race that proves nothing. Im more about having fun.so I guess there nothing wrong with my yfz.

If you have fun on it than there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. The YFZ is like 1000 times more fun to ride than the narrow, tall, tippy 660.

That what I say about I feel he jealous of it cause He was always talking about getting one and I went out and bought one I feel the same way about it. I look at it and laugh cause of how narrow and tall it is doesnt even look fun to ride like it would tip over around ever turn.
