Well NO luck finding a repair manual. Have everything apart but can't get the shaft and inter cv joint out of front diff. The only thing I've found is a video from The CVMan showing the guy popping one out with a screw driver but that was on a new sport bike. Any one know how to get it out from the front diff ? Any tips, hell at this point I'll try anything

Thanks

you didnt look in the right place for a repair manual. here they are.

Yamaha ATV Repair Manuals - A Do It Youself (DIY) Manual to Repair Yamaha

i bought one for mine, and yes, this is the company that publishes the auto repair manuals. complete step by step illustrations with writeups detailing what tools are needed for what job. this book is a MUST HAVE for anyone who wants to do his or her own repairs or just basic preventative maintenance.

these manuals are great. far better than the so called service manual you get when you buy a new quad. these books probably rival what the stealership uses to repair and diagnose problems with as well.

edit: seeing how old your quad is, if it were me, i would eat the extra money now and replace the entire cv axle. they are about 200 bucks or so, and you can order them from denniskirk or chapparels (spelling)? and it should be held in like a car, with a snap ring. release the tension on the snap ring and the axle should come on out. be sure to check the axle seals, you dont want to have a front diff leak after you put all that back together.

Now why replace the axle on both sides when all it needs is the outer boots replaced,
You must have money to burn. Yes it is old but it is in great shape, it's now used around the farm for the grand babies to run through the woods with. Saves on the horses and VET bills.

Now I know the inter CV is held in by a C clip but it's inside the front diff. No way to get to it, The outer CV can be removed by a drift punch and a hammer but you need to put it in a vise to hold it ( same type of C clip holding it together ) so what's the trick to remove the inter one ?

OK Guys here is the trick to removing the axle and inter CV joint from the front diff.
Remove the hub assembly as everyone knows, now the trick, remove the shock from the upper A arm push it and the A arm up out of the way. (You will need a straight shot for the axle). push it into the front diff as far as possible and quickly pull it straight back. May take 2 or 3 pulls but it will come out fairly easy
