Default '96 Warrior Battery - Finding CORRECT Replacement?!

I've come to the conclusion that it's time to replace my battery. If my Warrior sits idle for more than a couple days without running/riding, the battery will die and I'll have to hook it up to the battery charger to re-charge it... I was putting off this purchase (the new battery) for as long as possible because I don't have a ton of cash to spend on my ATV. Well, up until last weekend I was putting it off...

I rode 5+ miles into the woods and stopped at my favorite spot (a cliff with a beautiful view) for my usual routine (smoking a cig and watching the sunset). Five minutes later I suited back up to go back home. I hit the start button and all I heard was 'CLICK!'...

You guessed it - the battery was dead as a doornail. I couldn't manage to pop-start the quad, so I had to hike out of there - carrying my battery - and come back the next morning hoping my ATV was still there (I didn't get much sleep that night!)...

Anyways, long story short, after that whole incident I decided to replace the battery today. I checked the owner's manual and it lists the correct battery type as:

"GM12CZ-4A" (I'm assuming this is the OEM Yamaha battery).

My quad had an aftermarket battery: a "Fire-Power YB12C-A".

As you can see, the only consistency between the two batteries is the '12C' and the 'A' at the end...

I went to Autozone and they had NONE that matched the shape/size of my battery. So then I tried WalMart... They confirmed my old battery was dead by using their machine. And luckily, they had a bunch of different ATV batteries...

Only problem - I couldn't find one that matched up with the '12C' and the 'A'. I found an EverStart "ES12AA" which is what I ended up buying. The manual that came with the battery says:

*Volts: 12 (obviously!)

*Capacity at 10 Hr. Rate (Ah): 12

*Charging Time in Hours:
-At 1.0 Amps: 3 to 7 Hours
-At 1.5 Amps: 2 to 5 Hours

Can anyone help me to determine whether or not I got the 'correct' battery for my Warrior? In other words, do any of you guys know what all these numbers/letters in the different battery models stand for? If you could help me to decipher these model numbers, I would really appreciate it!

Thanks in advance for your help!

Cheers,
Mike

PS. I DID look for 'Cold-Cranking' power, and I couldn't find it listed ANYWHERE. I'm hoping this battery will do the job! : )

You have purchased a 12 volt 12 amp battery. The charging time is based or your battery charger's amp output.

I would recommend you charge it fully before using it much. I would also test the charging system of the quad. And check for voltage leaks which drain the battery.

A cheap solution is disconnect the negative cable from the battery when storing the quad.

The 12AA is right that is what I use in my Warrior. Just confirm the pos/neg terminals are on the proper sides they do make one the same size with reverse terminals.
