Question yamaha wolverine question

i have a 2003 yamaha wolverine 350 4x4 .. its ben working ok since i got it.. but yesterday i rode it through some mud (not deep at all) and it got stuck... as i sat there giving it gas the tires would not spin at all... it felt like the engine had no power whats so ever... the engine was loud and i believe it was doing its job.. but the wheels would not move at all... once i got it unstuck it worked perfectly fine... but in the mud it sucked ... any idea what this could be?...thanks for the help...

You Know I just had the same problem this weekend and I must say I was dissapointed with my Wolvie but unfortunately these bikes dont have any low end grunt. I would like to know also what can be done if anything. I want to be able to turn 25in tires, im running stock right now.

Without seeing how deep and thick the mud was it is hard to say if there is something wrong with the quad. When you were stuck did the engine rev up to a point and stop or did it continue to rev easily? Also you did not mention if the quad is stock or has any mods like bigger tires. When I first bought my Wolverine in 2005 I noticed in stock form it did not have much low end power, I had to ride it like my Blaster and keep the revs up. After adding an FMF Megamax pipe, EHS Racing Airbox lid, Noss Machine Air Filter Adapter, and jetting it properly I noticed an increase in low end power. The bike could actually be lugged along in a higher gear without downshifting to the point where I hardly use 1st gear except for rocky hill climbs where you can't build any speed.

Yeah its a Wolverine. They have the highest gearing of any bike yamaha ever made I think. They just don't have the grunt when you stick all 4 tires real good. That is why mine now rolls a BB motor, both for the CC and the much lower gearing.

I have a 2004 wolverine and have 25 inch mudlite on it, i don't have much problem getting out of mud or plowing snow, as long as the clutch is set, and you use the proper oil in the crank case, it may not slip as much... this is what i found
