Thumbs up 2001 Raptor.. good deal and good (learning) experience!

Im an old member that checks in on occasion... (im not old... relatively speaking anyways, but I was 21 when I registered...)

Back in February, I picked myself up a 2001 Raptor that had quite a few mods... but an original tranny.

The bike has chrome Lonestar A-arms, Works shocks, durablue axle, freshly rebuilt 686 motor, (but original tranny gearset!!) Hot Cam, Big Gun full exhaust, lazor lights, tons of aluminum, black plastic from a newer rap, paddles/razors on ITP's, etc... very nice bike. The bike sat for 4 years, thus has much fewer hours than your typical 2001. It did however, have a running problem that he could not figure out. It would die after running for 5 minutes.

I paid $2250.

The bike had a clogged fuel like that I fixed right away. (piece of fuel line rubber was like folded inside blocking flow!)

After about 2 rides.. the tranny went bang.

I completely rebuilt the tranny myself with a complete 2002 gearset I paid like 200 bucks for, and the bike is now a super clean, GREAT running beast with amazing suspension.

What more could you ask for? (besides a naked super model)
