Default Another Warrior Starting Problem

Hi, I am new to the forum and also new to Yamaha.
I picked up a 1987 Warrior for my wife. I am having problems getting it to run. I have completely rebuilt the bike from a bare frame. I can make the bike run if it is oulled with another vehicle but as soon as you slow down to unhook the strap it dies. I can not start it with the electric starter or the recoil starter. The bike started before it was disassembled but ran poorly due to excessive clearance in the cylinder bore. I have tried changing the Stator & CDI with both the old ones and new ones and it does exactly the same thing. I have removed the entire wire harness from the bike and checked all connectors and checked continuity on every wire. Everything tests good. I have tried 3 different coils and spark plug wires. No difference. I am not even worried about the carb as it will not even run on starting fluid. I do not seam to have enough spark when cranking. The orange wire from the cdi to the coil does not seam to be getting power.
Any ideas would be great as I have absolutely no more ideas on how to fix it and I have spent a good 30 hours or so trying to make it run.

the CDI goes in the back beside the rectifier it looks like you have it mounted where the coil goes...im not sure how good it is to use a msd coil but all ive trusted to use was oem or ricks, something with the wiring or parts has to be wrong something between the CDI, Stator(pick up coil, source coil),Ign Coil.

On a 87 and 88 the CDI is mounted in the front. It is correct and mounted where it should be. As for the coil, I have tried using a coil from another running 90 warrior and it makes no difference. I agree there must be something wrong with the wiring but the wiring is unchanged in any way from when it ran before I took it apart. I have not modified the harness in any way except to change the headlight connectors to work with the 89-up style lights. The battery cables I made are identical to the factory cables just a bit larger in size. All connections have been checked and all wires have been checked for any cuts as well as continuity. I have removed the complete harness from the bike and unwrapped all the tape and checked each individual wire. Then the complete harness was re-wrapped and reinstalled. This was done after the bike was complete. So it is not like I changed anything. As I said the bike ran before it was disassembled. I also did not change the CDI or Stator assembly untill after the bike was complete. These parts were changed trying to make the bike start as that is what I was told by many people were typically the problems with these bikes. I have really no other ideas.
