Ya, didn't step up in any department. Seems they just took the yfzr and put in the rear axle and A-Arms from the previous yfz to narrow it up a bit.

The Exhaust has been aimed frontward forever (mostly) on nearly everything aorund.... Best reason is that forward motion lets the fresh air cool the exhaust end first..... Not sure it's so logical to put the hot part after the warm parts..... but it is different huh?

Ya, I thought about that a bit later after my post. I remember the old Harley's well, that was before my time so I don't "remember" but, I've heard they had problems cooling the back cylinders because the design prohibited air flow to it. I wonder if Yamaha beefed up the cooling system? I always thought those little lines and passages would benefit if they were widened up a bit but, then again I'm no engineer and have nothing to back that.

It's a the first run for this new gen engine (if you want to call it that) so it'll be interesting to see what kinda of tweaks are done to it for 2011 and 2012.

I've always understood, you should never buy the first year of a new design or model. Usually waiting til the 3rd year will give the manufacturer enough experience to correct anything that was detrimental to the design or model change.

This may just be one of those times huh?
