What your building is VERY close to what I am currently runnning on my 700 however I am running a 12:1 CP piston and yes, I do have to run a mix of 100 octane and premium.
On my 08 raptor I am runningWebb X2 cam, the head is ported and polished, +1 intake valves, and a 12:1 CP piston with trinity intake, barker duels, and a PCIII. I am getting ready to add a +3 throttle body and dynatek programmable ignition.

To give you an idea of how it runs, I drag raced a buddy of mine on his 06, 734 cc raptor and we ran heads up from start to finish. He is running the 734 BB kit, webb 4 cam, LTE duels, FCI intake, +3 TB, port and polished head, dynetek programmable ignition and I believe he is running a 10:1 piston.

You can get an 11.5:1 pump gas safe CP piston from Tech Quad Shop.
Any of the duel systems for the raptors will compliment what your doing very well.

Even with the build there will be a noticable gain over the HMF going to any of the duel systems. Where the power gains shine the most on the duels is the more that is done internally to the motor. There has been numerous tests with this that has been documented on moddedraptor.com and raptorforum.com.

If your going with an HC cam you won't have to worry about this but if you go with any of the more aggresive cams like the Webb X2, X4, HD5050, or RJ cam from KDS racing you will have to go to HD valve springs and you will have to have the rockers clearanced for the cam.

Right now I want to keep it 'recreational friendly'. The Barkers, 11.5:1, port & polish, and I'll probably scrap the current TPI for a PCIII, is what I'm thinking at this point. Does it sound like this simple combination will work well together? Also, is there any 'verbage' I should be aware of as it applies to 'port & polish'? Like 'recreational' or 'middle of the road' etc. or something like that? I don't want em' to dig out too much metal (alum). Maintaining reliability is of utmost importance.

Just talk with the person doing the port work and let them know what your intentions are for the bild you are doing and they should be able to get you something from there. Also, make sure you know the person knows what they are doing on the port work. The port work can make or break a build. I would recommend getting onto rapotor forum and looking up velociraptor. He is the one who did my port job and does very good work for a good price. Racers Edge in AZ also does very good work.

duals is the best option if u have the cash. places i recomend for porting are racers edge az, kenz cycle tech, rocket factory, tim barker, velociraptor. also i dont know how much u are looking to spend but for about 3500 bucks u can get a turbo (from joker vault racing) that will kill 95% of the drag bikes out there and dune all day. 3500= 90hp 70tq

I have the same question as tfunk22008. I've heard very little about the throttle body boring but finding it mentioned in numerous reply's. Is this a kit? Do you have it done somewhere? What are your gains, pros & cons?

The larger throttle body will increase the amount of air that it is able to pull into the the engine increasing the power. Like bigned said, it's about 125-200 to get it done and there are several places. TQS does not actually do the boring but he does keep bored TB's in stock as well as DL700 from high desert dyno on the raptor boards. You will either have to ship them yours and then they will ship the bored one out to you or you have to pay a core charge if you don't want any down time but the core charge will be refunded to you once they recieve your stock TB. KDS racing bores them and I think racers edge and rocket factory does them as well.

TFunk, I have not heard of anyone doing this on the YFZ450R yet. You may check on yfztech.com to find out for sure.
