Default Exhaust pipes ??

What are the pros & cons of both & hp/tq opinions welcomed also...

What is the difference between a heavily baffled exhaust pipe v.s. an open end exhaust (free flowing). 4-stroke

Just wanted to here others opinion.....

I'm not sure exactly what you are asking here......Pros/Cons of what? HP/TQ opinions?

Well the main thing with ATV exhausts is that they are designed and tuned for a specific machine. If you want some more power, you get an aftermarket exhaust, and you do the other mods needed that go with it. Such as EFI controller or carb jetting, or air box mods....whatever might apply to whatever machine you are dealing with....

As far as open free flow, versus baffled...... it really does not matter. But just opening up an exhaust or putting a more free flowing exhaust does not necessarily mean more power. Everything has to be done a specific way.

ATVs are highly tuned machines....... The exhaust has to have the right bend in the headpipe, it has to have the right chamber design in the muffler. The muffler or canister has to be a specific length and diameter. It is more specific and detailed than a car or truck.

If done right, you will increase your torque and HP ratings all through the power-band. Or you can target specific curves in the power-band with specific mods. Sometimes a slip-on muffler will give you low end gains, but no top end. Sometimes a headpipe will give you top end gains but no low end. It really all matters on the engine you are dealing with, and what types of gains you are seeking.

well this is kinda left wide open sence no certin machine was talked about but for the most part the open end (drag type exhaust) will flow better and give more power in the higher rpm range where a exhaust with a can to make it not as loud willl uselly give more power in the lower rpm range. most wont like drag pipes unless u motor is very built.
