Default 89 warrior sputtering out on top of each gear.

Hey all im new to the site. So here we go, i torn the wheeler down to replace, bearings all the way around, chain and sprockets. While it was torn down i cleaned the carb. put it all back together started up fine, no problems. the wheeler ran great before the tare down. Go to jump on it takes off fine, as you give it more than half trottle. in any gear it chokes out sputters. The plug is black, so i figured its running rich. i took the carb off twice, went back through it. no change tried new plugs nothing.
The bike is not stock by any meens. It has a full dg exhaust, oil cooler, stage 1 top end and its boarded about as far as you can go. i screwed with air fuel mixture, nothing. Spark is nice and blue. And it has a 145 main jet. and we tried numerous types of gas. and ideas would help thanks.

Your main jet maybe too big.

The Air jet maybe be plugged. It is really hard to clean that part. some use air compressors.

Or it could be your air screw if you took it out to clean it, and screwed it in the the way. All though that would not explain the high rpm condition. If you find your manual it should tell you how many turns out the air screw should be.

check out www.mikunioz.com
Even if you do not have a mikuni it still could be helpful.

change your mainjet out for a 147.5 and you should be good, the screw is suppose to be out about 2 1/4 turns or so...

First of all, that pipe is a piece of junk and I wouldn't be surprised if it is causing your problems. Put a good aftermarket pipe on there and run about a 152 main and you will be swell.

DG makes horrendous pipes, and generally they actually do more harm than anything else.

im not sure where you live and what your elevation is but theres no way in hell you will need a 152 main...your mods will most likely just need a tad bit bigger main which is going from a 145 which is stock to a 147.5 or so...boring usually doesnt require bigger jetting, DG and Cobra pipes in most cases actually made less gains then a stock pipe lol, HMF is one of the nicest warrior pipes specially for the $ and i believe they send a 152.5 size jet which is actually a little to rich, even for mine it was a little rich.

Yup - 91Warrior357 is spot on. Either way, the 145 main jet is the stock size, and with those mods, its too small and will cause the exact symptoms the OP stated.

To the OP - I would start with the next size up, the 147.5 first, like suggested. Chances are that will do the trick. It did for me - but then again I don't have the mods you have. Either way, you should at least some improvement, which should tell you that you are on the right track - then you can just go up to the next size, if necessary.
