Default Wolverine 450

I am curious what everyone thinks of the wolverine 450 4x4 as an all around quad. Trails, Dunes, mud, towing etc.

Not sure about the dunes, but the rest should be fine. I would think you'd want something a little more sporty for the dunes. IMO

I have an 06' wolvy 450. The best way to describe it is jack off all, master of none. It does a good job in just about all riding conditions but it is not perfect for any conditions either. It handles well on trails and is really fun to trail ride. It goes through most mud, snow and sand. If you plan on going through deep mud, I would get some better mud tires than the stock tires. It does really well in sand that is somewhat packed down but like most it tends to bog down quite a bit in real loose sand. I have towed small trees (300lbs. max) with it and it pulled them with ease but I haven't towed anything major with it yet. I did pull another wolvy out of the mud. The 4 wheel drive was the major selling point to me. Even though I don't use it often, it is great when I need to use it. The only thing I would say that it is not good at is jumps. It is very heavy and you feel the weight on the landing which may be a problem for some trail riding and sand dunes. Even small jumps definitely wear me out. Overall it is a fun quad to ride and I am happy with it. In fact, after owning it for a few months, I purchased a second one and my brother also purchased one.

When it comes to trail riding, I don't think the Wolvy can be beat for all around fun. I wouldn't use it for towing, though. The maximum weight capacity is 220 pounds for rider, cargo, accessories and tongue.
