Yamaha Warrior or Honda 300ex

I am looking to buy a used sport atv. I just cannot descide wheather to get a Warrior or a 300ex. I do mostly trail riding and dont race. Warriors are a lot cheaper to buy used but I dont know if they are a reliable atv. I also here that they have more power than a 300ex. Which do you think I should get?

This is the age old atv question, lol. Both are reliable if properly cared for. The Warrior has an edge in power and top speed. The Honda handles noticeably better. Handling trumps power for trail riding in my eyes.

If you ride mostly trails, the 300ex is hard to beat. After years of riding my Wolverine, I rode my son's 300 while he was trying out the 440 ex I bought for him. It felt like I was riding a bike, a little hip action, and the back end slides the corners, steers like a dream, pops over rocks and logs with just a little tug on the bars, I even stayed ahead of my son on the tight trails. So power isn't everything, but the final choice is yours, both are solid reliable quads with electric start and reverse, so it can be a hard choice. find one of each and ride it to find what you like.

I would choose the warrior. VERY reliable quad. when i was younger, my friend owned a 1998 Yamaha warrior and we went mud bogging we raced, hit jumps and it is still running this day.
That old thing has been rallyed by a bunch of dumb kids and it is still ready to take more.
Now they just need to make a warrior 450r and ill get that. haha

The Warrior is aptly named and truly lives up to that name. They are tough as nails and while heavier than the 300 EX, they are more powerful and faster. They are antiquated and outdated by todays standards but they are tough machines that will take a constant beating for years to come. The Honda is a Honda, and their durability is beyond reproach. The 300 is smaller in stature and lighter as well, making it better handling and more nimble. If you are smaller than 6' tall you probably would be fine with the Honda. If you are larger in height and weight, I would recommend the Warrior. The Warrior I had was just a great machine and as near bullet proof as you can get in my opinion, but you can't go wrong with either machine.

i would take a warrior any day of the week over a 300ex. they are slow, uncomfortable, they have shitty suspension( eve worst than the warrior), and the reserve on them is a joke. Go with the warrior. If the motor runs good and has no issues it will run like a champ for FOREVER

I don't have much to add to what has already been said...
You'll just have to try both and see which fits you better.
I've owned both and can't really argue with anyone here.
The Warrior is stronger, faster, roomier, and just as reliable, but heavier.
The 300EX is smaller, lighter, handles better, and is just as reliable, but the suspension is soft.
It all depends really on what you prefer. I myself liked the better woods handling of the 300EX, and the plusher ride. But I did not like the brake dive and roll in the corners. I liked the room, stability, power and 6 speed trans on the Warrior.
It would be hard for me to choose between them again today.
Since we are talking used here, I'd just buy the one I felt best about buying used.
Wouldn't matter which brand it was.

both are very reliable. but 300ex is lighter and handles better although, the warrior is faster, handling makes a big difference. also, depending on how much you want to spend they stoped making the warrior in 2004 and started making the raptor 350 so if you want a newer atv and not the rapter then deff the Honda 300ex
