I assume you rejetted when you put on the exhaust. It may be getting to much fuel/not enough air. Make sure the filter is clean. May have to reduce the jet size if all else fails.

These 450's like to idle high. I had a bit of a trouble when I had mine idling about the same rpm range i was used to on my other wheelers. I turned it up slightly and was surprised how the little increase changed the way it ran.

And welcome to the forums!

Default Dr D exhaust and bogging

Mine did the same thing at first. I have an 04 YFZ with the same exhaust system. With the right jetting you should take the air box lid off and still may have to bump up the idle. I also use a K&N. Worked for me.
My exhaust system didn't come with a clamp. It says the system is designed that way. Any thoughts on that?

Well, depending on jetting the lid can be on or off. Did the pipe come with instructions on jetting? If followed there instructions it's probably specified with or without lid.

Not sure on the clamp. My graydon doesn't have a clamp but, I'm thinking it should. You can see where a slight exhaust leak has formed around the pipe to mid pipe couple.

Yeah a kinda think its the fuel pump cause it seems to be a common problem with yfz 450s 06 and up but the clamp does not come because one is not needed and it is jetted clean filter and yeah

There is a "zip tie" mod that helps with the bog off idle. Haven't known it to affect much going into second.
