Default suzuki 230 question

owner says chain broke and cracked the oil pan, is this an easy fix? weld oil pan or is it a replacable (bolt on, bolt off) part?

this is the yamaha forum, you might want to post this in the suzuki forums.

as far as i'm concern, the oil pan on the lt230's is part of the engine, i'm pretty sure it is not a retractable part that you can buy. don't quote me on this though.

Quads don't usually have an oil pan--unless this is an exception. The oil just sits in the crankcase/tranny and is circulated. My guess is the chain broke and cracked the case, which is an expensive and pain in the *** fix and something to completely avoid.
