Wolverine crankshaft blues
#1
Need information, I killed a rod bearing, tore the engine apart and hauled the crank into the local machine shop. He located and installed a rod kit for me no problem. The problem is that when I tore it apart, the right side bearing stayed in the case and the oil pump and counterbalancer gears pulled off the crank.I NEED to find out the placement of the counterbalancer gear in relation to TDC. PLEASE HELP

Hey Boom,,,
Thanks for the reply man,,but it's not quite what I'm after.Ihave the service manual here with those same pictures. You see,the balance drive gear is two piece,,the outside can be easily removed along with the springs and dowel pins but the inner is pressed on and shouldn't be removed, except by an experienced crankshaft specialist(lesson:3 good buddies+ 1 bottle of Canadian Club+1 sick wolverine engine=TROUBLE)So what I need to figure out is the # of the degrees off TDC the index mark on the buffer boss(inside piece of balance drive gear)is supposed to be.I tried a crank repair shop and all he could tell me is that they mark them before they take them apart. I'm going to e-mail yamaha next to see if they can give me the specs. If anyone out there knows of any other plkaces I could ask for information Icould sure use the suggestions.
