Buying a yfz 450 that hasn't been used in 2 years. quick questions
#1
Hey guys, i recently bought a ltz 400 for 1600, just turned it around and sold it for 2100. I am about to go pick up an 05 yfz 450 that hasn't been used in 2 years, what should i do to get it running right? I know it needs a new battery, and im guessing a carb rebuild? It looks like it has been run for 5 hours, it is really clean and it has the original tires on it. Im buying it for 2100 and it comes with 3 helmets, 2 pairs of boots, and 2 pairs of riding pants. Is this a good deal? Any other help with what I should do would be great.
Thanks a lot guys

I would just pop a new battery in it and see if you can get her to fire up first, even before you go ahead and buy it. From there I would change the plug and oil and make sure there are no rats nests in the air box or under the seat. $2,100 is a pretty good price for an 05 YFZ.

And considering i would bretty much get it for 1600 cause i just sold a ltz i bought for 1600 for 2100. And it hasn't been used in 2 years so its almost new, very clean. But i don't know if i would just try to start it up, i don't want old gas to go in it

yes good gas, and good battery... great place to start, sounds like a great buy. wittness marks, every thing tells a story. i would ride before you buy if possible. 1.) does it look right 2.) sound right 3.) feel right.
