Default 07 yfz 450 header red hot. normal?

Got a yfz 450 today, for 2300. It still has the rubber spikes on the tires, thats how new it is. It has about 5 hours on it. But the idle is low, how do I adjust that? And the header is glowing red, is that normal?
Thanks

The header glowing red is normal. Here is a link to download the service manual, it will show you everything you need to know.

It is? Its not really normal IMO...... very hot yes, maybe red hot....but "glowing" red....no that sounds too hot to me.

I would check for a lean condition because a "glowing red" head pipe is not normal to me.

I have seen it several times on bone stock bikes and aftermarket exhausts when it has been sitting at idle and it shouldn't go past the bend on the pipe. It is also common on raptors with aftermarket full exhausts, mine will do it at idle as well, you really can't see it unless it's dark and it is actually a little rich. http://www.yfztech.com/forum/index.p...glowing+header

I've seen aftermarket headers glow as stated above, mine does at idle. It's more noticeable at night. I've seen Raptors glow as bright as the friggin' sun.

wow sounds like a great buy, any way yes it's normal for a head pipe to glow dimly, but bright or cherry red means it's running to lean. has the machine been jetted? if not, buy a jet kit... there are alot of good after market choices i think the "dyno jet" kit evan has good instructions and a altitude chart. and the idle adjustment screw or **** is on the left side of carb above float bowl. yes definetly get a manual. enjoy, and once again great buy.
