Raptor - To Fast for me!!
#1
Anyone know if going down a tooth in the front sprocket will make very much of a diffence on this Raptor. I bought it just to have something to ride around with my 7 year old. He got a 2001 Badger. I guess I over did it with the Raptor, I never take the thing out of first or second gear. First gear on this is top speed on the ole' Badger...

I went down to a 12 tooth on the front and up to a 44 on the rear, with 22 inch tires, and it is very manageble in the woods, but yeah, your kid doesn't stand a chance of keeping up with you even in reverse.
Do what I did, and buy your wife a Trailblazer or something completely automatic, and you can put on that with your kid, and have fun on the weekend's with "the boys" on the Raptor.

Rather than space the skid plate (And create a shovel) I used a metal ban saw to remove enough of the material to allow the chain and sprocket to protrude.
I know that this sounds kind of stupid, but I'm going to have one of the polaris like chain guard's made for my machine, so it tracks through mud better.
I'll post Digital Pic's when I get the project finished.
