Default Head gasket or Cracked Block ?

I have a Grizzly 660 and it's getting water in the oil. It runs fine doesn’t misfire or blow any smoke of any kind. I would think if it was a head gasket it would pour white smoke.

My son was driving when it started getting hot so I'm not sure exactly what happened but it started getting hot and when I checked the coolant it was low. I refilled it and 30 min later it was low again that's when I checked the oil and found chocolate milk.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

yes coolant in the oil is simpely a bad thing. you can put your mechanic suit and hat on and perform compression, leak down, dye in the system and so on tests... or prepare for surgery and remove and inspect the head and gasket. you'll probably find a trace or witness mark where the coolant was cross leaking, with piston at bottom dead center you can inspect the cylinder for a hair line crack, or transport machine to a machine shop and ask them to "magnaflux" the cylinder and head. (old procedure for crack detection). hopefully you can see the problem right away i hate chashing ghosts. i believe that power plant has a steel cylinder sleeve and not a cermamic one like the raptor 250.

Of all the time on this forum I don't recall one cracked jug. I don't have enough fingers and toes to count the head gasket problems I have seen. (I won't say it does not happen but..........)

Does that make you feel any better?

I have never heard of a cracked jug or head on a single cylinder either. I am betting the head gasket also.

That all depends on where the head gasket is leaking at...
