Default '07 Yamaha Big Bear

I recently rebuilt my 400 motor and the atv had been sitting about 5 months. Without thinking i replaced all parts of the atv, except i didn't clean the carb.. The motor started right away and idled perfect but when i started to apply gas the motor would die and only run with choke applied when giving it gas. I am thinking my carb is clogged up from the gas that was left in it. Am i thinking right? I just hate to have to remove front fenders and tank to get to the carb.. Is there an easier way? Thanks.

Most atvs you pop off the seat and two side panles to get at the carb, maybe remove the air box at most. You can try running "Seafoam" through the motor that stuff can do wounders for bad gas and dirty carbs.

You had to rebuild a 07 Big Bear motor? My 89 350 Big Bear with a zillion miles on it is still running around and I ran it on year without a air filter.LOL there amazingly tough ATVs.

Well, I ran it in a huge water hole that i did not think was as deep as it really was (just has to come over seat). I cleared the cylinder and dried the plug and rode it out. i found out later that i hydrolocked the engine and cracked the piston at ring groove.
