Moto 4 350 no spark
#1
I have a moto 4 350 that has no spark. I have isolated the problem to either the pulser/stator or the cdi. I know there is really no way to test the cdi without sophisticatd equipment, but I would like to test the pulser/stator/magneto. There are 4 white wires, 2 red, and 1 green coming out of it. Is there a way to test it using an ohm meter or voltage meter and how would I go about performing the test? Thanks for any help.

I eliminated the cdi and stator by by-passing them and using the battery to check for spark at the plug. When I went with twelve volts to the orange wire to the secondary coil and tapping it i got a spark at the plug with the plug grounded on the engine. Thanks.

Ok, checked with my ohm tester and got no readings on the two reds or green wire. There are three white wires in a connector together and when I checked with the continuity tester the beep came when I checked all three. On the ohm side, almost no resistance shown when touched to the ground. Does this mean they are grounded out??? Anyone with advice???

You can't by-pass the CDI though, in theory, you could fit a different CDI. However, I did an Ozark earlier this year, sent the stator to a specialist re-winder as the pulse coil seemed wrong (Suzuki don't sell pulse coils separate from the stator), they said it was OK and sent it back. Still no spark when hot, so after messing about for ages and finding nothing else wrong, I got a pulse coil from eBay, instant cure. Get the official workshop manual. Test out the stator, pulse and exciter coils. Check earth, kill wire, etc, to CDI. If everything tests out right "by the book" then the only thing left is the CDI.
